LIBERTY Stow ‘n Go Owner’s Manual

Emergency and Maintenance

Your Liberty Stow ‘n Go Dodge Grand Caravan has a different storage location for the spare tire then its original equipment counterpart. The spare tire is now located in the rear of the cabin, on the drivers side of the vehicle. In the event that the spare tire is required, follow the procedures laid out in the ‘WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES’ section of the Dodge Owner’s Manual with the exceptions addressed below.

4.1 Spare Tire Removal
  1. To access the tire, remove the vinyl cover. The vinyl cover can be removed by first unzipping the zipper to allow access to the black knob inside. The knob attaches both the vinyl cover and the tire to the vehicle. Unscrew the knob and remove the tire and the vinyl cover from the tire.
  2. Remove the jack cover and the jack as outlined in the Dodge Owner’s Manual.
  3. Continue the spare tire replacement as outlined in the Dodge Owner’s Manual supplied with your vehicle.

4.2 Slope Adapter Removal (if equipped)
  1. To remove the optional slope adapter, use the supplied wrench to unscrew the single, centrally located, attaching bolt. The wrench can be found in the pouch of the vinyl spare tire cover.
  2. Lift the slope adapter out of the vehicle after unscrewing the single attaching bolt.
  3. Attached to the underside of the slope adapter is a shorter bolt with a rubber washer. Remove this bolt from the slope adapter and place it in the floor to seal the hole that was exposed after removing the longer slope adapter mounting bolt.
  4. The longer slope adapter mounting bolt can now be attached to the underside of the slope adapter where the short bolt was located. The long mounting bolt can remain there until the slope adapter is reinstalled.
  5. To reinstall the slope adapter, reverse the process of its removal.

4.3 Routine Maintenance

Routine inspection for obvious signs of damage is all that is required to ensure the safe operation and long life of your conversion. The Liberty Motor Company conversion is designed to be maintenance free for the life of the vehicle.

4.4 Towing

Due to the lowered floor design of the Liberty Motor Company wheelchair accessible conversion, there is an increased risk of damage to the rear of the vehicle as a result of towing. In the event that your vehicle requires a tow, it is recommended that a flatbed tow truck be used.
