3.2 Second Row Seat Removal and Installation
|
|
The Liberty Motor Company converted Stow ‘n Go van is provided with removable second row seating. The removal of either the second row bucket seats or the optional three person bench seat is almost identical. Either second row bucket seat can be removed independently by removing the locking rod from the base of the seat. The removal of the three person bench requires the locking rod from both seat bases be removed before the seat can be removed.
Each bucket seat has a mass of approximately 30 kg (65 lbs). The mass of the three person bench seat is 75 kg (165 lbs). Under no circumstances should the optional second row bench be removed by one individual, serious injury may result if attempted.
|
 | Removal of the bucket or bench seat can cause serious personal injury. Caution must be taken when lifting and removing the second row seating. The three person bench seat requires at least two people for its removal or installation. |
- Lift recline actuating handle on side of seat and fold seatback fully forward.
- Pull the nylon strap located in the rear, at the base of the bucket seat, to unlock the rear hooks of the seat base. The seat should readily fold forward when lock is released. For the optional bench seat, the nylon straps from both seats must be released at the same time to fold the seat forward.
- With the seat folded forward, pull the seat locking rod outward. The three person bench requires the locking rod be removed from both seat bases.
- The seat can now be removed by lifting the whole assembly vertically off the mounting forks and out of the vehicle. The optional bench can now be lifted, vertically by two or more people, off of the mounting forks and cautiously removed from the vehicle.
- When replacing the seat, or the bench, care must be taken to position the seat anchoring base properly. The seat base must have the horizontal rod positioned in the top of the mounting fork and the locking rod must pass through the seat base forks entirely.
- Push the seat rearward briskly and allow the rear legs to lock into the rear floor anchors. Lift the recline actuators and unfold the seatback.

 | DO NOT USE 2nd ROW SEATING IF THE LOCKING ROD IS NOT IN PLACE. |
